As you already know, my name is Giorgio. I was born in Cosenza in 1996 and grew up in Southern Italy, where I pursued my university studies in management engineering.
It all started when I was a little child, watching my father tinkering with Windows 98: I was drawn to this strange machine that captured my attention right from the beginning.
The passion for coding and the musical interlude
My path seemed clear: programming was what I wanted to do. Therefore, after several self-taught attempts, in 2010 at the age of 14, I began my journey in high school with a focus on computer science.
In the meantime, a few years earlier, I had decided to simultaneously pursue an artistic musical path. I enrolled in the clarinet admission exams at the conservatory at just 11 years old. I managed to pass the selection and embark on a long nine-year journey, which, as you will see later, I eventually decided to end prematurely.
End of the musical and developer career
My 17th year was shocking: everything I had pursued for years seemed to vanish within a few months. I decided to end my artistic journey as I found myself at a crossroads: should I continue with university or should I go all-in on music? The choice wasn’t difficult but that didn’t make it any less painful.
On the other hand, after years of programming, I realized that it didn’t fully hit the mark for me – or at least not in the way I had hoped. Meanwhile, I became passionate about process engineering and resource optimization, which led me to pursue studies in management engineering.
But some loves never truly fade away…
During my master’s degree, I then approached the world of data science, a field in which I later conducted my experimental thesis in the automotive sector, building a predictive model for the Italian company Quattroruote Professional.
My passion for data was definitively back but in a new form: I started my professional journey into data analysis.
Recently, I’ve also earned a master’s in artificial intelligence & data science to enhance my expertise in this field.
